Macaroni (Beef/Mutton soup as soup stock)

Background: It is easy to cook Macaroni, boil it in plain water and add in a piece of butter and some other supplementary sea-food, meat or vegetables.

Challenges: When a soup stock is used, it enriches its flavor in quite an amazing way. It resembles the rice noodle soup that is a common breakfast among the Chinese in Asean. 

My brilliant idea: Use beef or mutton soup as a soup stock.

Ingredients: Macaroni (100 grams) and a small bowl of mutton soup as soup stock. The rest of the ingredients is up to your imagination.  

Procedure: (Broken down into two sections)

Section one: Boil mutton soup

Please refer to procedure, Fusion-stew mutton soup.

 Note:

You can use beef soup.

Section two: Boil Macaroni

Step 1: Soak the Macaroni in tap water for ten minutes. Note: Larger size Macaroni may require fifteen minutes.

 Step 2: Add some salt and boil it until the Macaroni is soft.

Step 3: Throw away all the remaining boiling water.

Step 4: Add in the soup stock.

Step 5: Add in a piece of butter (ten gram).

Step 6: Add a cube of mutton lard (optional).

 Step 7: Boil it for two to three minutes (to ensure the mixture or butter, mutton lard and soup is nicely warmed up and envelops every piece of the Macaroni). Note: Ensure the bubbles are kept to needle size. Too much bubbling means, the nice fragrance of the food is all boiled away through evaporation.

Finished Product:

 Remarks:

1) You can see that the Macaroni has doubled in size and extremely soft.

2) The soup is extremely delicious.

3) Every spoonful of Macaroni goes down very well with the extremely delicious soup. Remark: This is the desired quality of a typical rice noodle soup. However, the Macaroni is more neutral unlike rice noodles which tend to absorb a lot of the soup.   

Assessments:

1) This is an Asean fusion version of cooking Macaroni.

2) It is much more delicious than most traditional way of cooking Macaroni.
