论老子

道,领导也。领导必需要不断呼唤,教导下属以及以身作则。下属的过和错皆因领导懒惰。

The success of every business, irrespective of public or private sector, is very much dependent on the Chief Executive Officer. The CEO mobilizes the right people to work on the right things with a sense of urgency. The CEO who manages to influence his people to make the least mistakes will be the market leader and survives the competition.

For 23 years, the author helped many companies turn around their operations.  During numerous consultations, the author would firstly identify which deadly management behaviors that have become a cultural norm within the organization and then implemented a customized lean production system.

More than a million books have been written on management subject. Most of them cover one or several aspects about good management practices.  However, there aren’t many that discuss poor management practices. Instead of giving a set of instructions of how to manage your business with new management concepts, tools, or techniques, the author points out the 7 deadly management behaviors that a CEO and his executives must avoid. They are: other people’s money mentality, information manipulation, the veil of misinformation, the ostrich mentality, the fallacy of working ‘smart’, laissez-faire management reporting, and likeability.

A small misstep may cause your company to go out of business.  No matter how good and hardworking your people are, there will be no saving grace if one of your managers makes just one fatal decision. A common evident of most companies that fail is the presence of at least one of the 7 deadly management behaviors. Many succumb to several of them, if not all.

This is a must-read book for everybody. It alerts CEOs to identify whether or not such management behaviors are present among their managers; prepares the aspiring junior managers who wish to climb the corporate ladder and become the Chief Executive Officer one day; helps junior executives to understand their manager’s mindset, and lastly, guides the business owners and shareholders in assessing their CEOs and management teams’ performance.

Rationale of “CEO EDITION”

This special edition[1] is dedicated to enlighten you on the concept in less than five minutes, so that you can alarm your managers on the symptoms and of course, to rectify these negative behaviors before it cripples the whole organization.

[1] This book is a concise explanation of the “7 Deadly Management Behaviors” extracted from the author’s first management book published by Qinghua University Press in Mandarin, entitled, 《英明老板》.
